How My YouTube Subscriber Hired Me

The most common way to make money on YouTube is to get your channel monetized. This requires 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time within the last 12 months. However, this is not the only way YouTube can help you earn money. My YouTube subscriber hired me when I had just 400 subscribers.

In the video below, I sit down with my boss, Adam Culpan, the distillery manager at Boothstown Gin. We discuss how he found me on YouTube and subsequently gave me a job working at his distillery. When Adam first found my channel I only had around 400 subscribers and the channel was not yet monetized. However, documenting myself working at different distilleries paid off, as Adam could view my entire employment history through my YouTube videos. We stayed in touch on Instagram and later on when I asked if he could provide me with a job, he said yes! I hope this story inspires people who are thinking of starting a channel to take the leap and try, because you never know what can happen.
