I’m buying a whisky cask! After much deliberation I decided to buy a 200L whisky cask to commemorate my first distilling job at The Borders Distillery. I filled my cask on July 1 2020, Canada Day. It will be finished maturing ten years from now on July 1 2030.
I have seen numerous people come to the distillery and fill their own private casks, so it was fun to be able to do one for myself. It feels a bit like a time capsule, the cask is filled with Scotch Whisky and all my memories of my time working here. I wonder where I will be in ten years time, will I still be a distiller in ten years? Will I be a full-time beverage YouTuber/blogger? What am I going to do with 200L of whisky anyways?
